How to properly do the Air Step/Walk on Air move?

Main Post:

I have watched a lot of videos that allegedly teach how to do the Air Step/Walk on Air movement, but so far I still don't have a single clue as to how to do it.

It feels like my brain lags everytime I try to follow the tutorials, so I wanted to see if someone here could explain better how to learn this movement.I won't lie, I saw some videos of guys using it and doing it so smoothly that they seemed to be floating on air as they walked.I love this type of illusion but it's too hard to understand it in order to do it.

I get it that some talk about doing the "invisible box" step but this is another step I also am having a lot of difficulty understanding how it works.Could someone with a better understanding of body mechanics explain how to do all that?

Is it more polite to finish the dance or just walk away?

Main Post:

Just for reference I'm a lead. I go to a lot of socials and it's a lot of fun, but occasionally (maybe like 5% of the time) I'll dance with a lady and when I transition from open position to semi-closed or cuddle position they'll push me back and give me a nasty look and I wonder why they even wanted to dance with me in the first place.

I've always finished the dance remaining in open position which is fine but clearly neither of us are enjoying it anymore, and honestly ruins my mood for a little while.

I noticed these sort of followers always tend to watch everyone and look like they want to dance but no one asks them (no surprise).. I always avoid dancing with them again.

I'm wondering if it would be more polite to just end the dance on the spot when this happens or if that would be more rude?

Next time that happens, just ask her about it. Maybe there is something you are missing about the way you dance. It is not common that someone refuses to go into a standard position of a sensual dance like Bachata if they are experienced dancers, it sounds odd, maybe the issue lies with you.

Shut Up And Dance - Walk The Moon

Main Post:

I don't have dude's baller delay pedal, which is pretty central to what he's playing. I'm also just one person, and there's two guitars on the recording. So this isn't one of those obnoxious 100% note-for-note transcriptions, but rather a composite arrangement for one guitarist in a working band.

If you're a two-guitar band, for the verse one of you might play the 8th note arpeggios (a la the breakdown chorus at m59) while the other one plays muted 16th note strums w/delay. Then for the chorus one of you plays what's written and the other plays crunchy power chords.

If you want me to write out the synth solo for guitar just holler at me.

What exactly is crip walking?

Main Post:

I will start by saying that I am not American. I have seen some weird commentary about Serena Williams crip walking being offensive. But i also saw that clip of Snoop Dog calling that olympic horse crip walking. Have I been mistaken that its a rap thing?

Top Comment: The Crips are a gang based out of Los Angeles Crip Walk is their signature "triumph dance" Used to be a thing someone who wasn't in that gang wouldn't do but these days it seems to be more "neighborhood" than "membership"
